Whether you are a
first time Mother with a brand new baby or a Mother with young children, I want
you to know that I understand how hard being a Mother can be. Being a Mother can be the most satisfying
feeling a woman has. It empowers women, but it can also be one of the most
overwhelming feelings a woman has. To the Mother who is doing her absolute best
yet still feels like she isn’t enough, I want you know that you are not alone. I understand you. I understand your
feelings, your emotions, and your mindset.
To the Mother who
looks at her watch at 4pm and thinks, “how will I make it to bed time?” I know
how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
lets her toddler watch TV so that she can put her baby to sleep. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
finally manages to stroke her baby to sleep and then accidently makes a noise
while she tip toes out of the room. I
know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
finally puts the children to bed and then crashes on the sofa only to then
spend the evening watching TV and eating unhealthy food. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
just falls asleep and is immediately woken up by the cries of her baby. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
finally puts the baby back to bed, only to realise that the baby’s cries have
woken up the toddler. I know how you feel
and you are not alone.
To the Mother who has been up all night attending to her baby but still has to be up early to get the older children to school. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
spends time making healthy home cooked meals for her babies and toddlers but
ends up picking most of it up off the floor. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who gets ready really quickly and is forced to use dry shampoo because she does not have enough time in the shower to wash her hair. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother, that
is still wearing her maternity jeans and nursing bras for a few extra months. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother that
looks at her home and is tired of tidying up over and over again. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother who
feels so exhausted but also so helpless and sad when her child is unwell. I know how you feel and you are not alone.
To the Mother that is
constantly exhausted but still keeps trying her best or to the Mother that
thinks she is doing so much but still feels like she is not doing enough.
I know how you feel and you are not
alone.
To all the Mothers
whichever stage you are in, on this utterly exhausting yet beautiful journey. I want you to know, we all need to know that
we are on this journey together and none of us are alone.
